Physical appearance notes:

Mixed race, so her skin is darker than “white”, but not quite as dark as Sora’s. Lots of freckles, and general red-head complexion. Wide hips, small chest, height comes from the legs.

Notes:
She potentially has motivation issues, though the beginning of Dead Inside was more likely a combination of shell-shock and that spell that's on the Islands messing with her brain so she didn't desperately want to go after Sora. But mainly the shell-shock.
(She mentioned this in DIch234, and the spell on Destiny Islands was mentioned in DIch87)

Sort of generally gets along with everyone, but less in the "because she's really nice" way, and more like if they still went to school she’d be the popular girl everyone wants to be friends with/date. Especially date.

Kind of a social butterfly?? Though after Dead Inside she's going to have a hard time getting into situations where she can be one, ya feel?

Does a lot of sassing and back-talking that’s important

When she’s embarrassed her voice squeaks that is so important

A general lip biting habit? Like she chews her lips when thinking

SHE TEASES EVERYONE it’s one of the reasons why she and Joseph get along so well

History to keep in mind:

Spending nearly five months on Destiny Islands, nearly two of them completely alone, unable to grasp onto a faith that Sora would ever come back home

Growing up with Sora/surrounded by boys

I mean her past with Sora in general, especially them being so close that they shared everything and had so many sleepovers and swimming together etc

Searching for Sora/traveling with Tifa in Dead Inside

Fighting Style:

Until she gets a weapon she fights with a lot of light/magic but then she gets a weapon and starts being extremely focused on physical attacks

She’s still pretty well versed in magic and uses light A LOT

My ideal Kairi is Dissidia Tifa tbh, largely close range, fast, and powerful physical attacks (w/ her fists of course) but with a decent grasp of magic to balance herself out.

Battle Log entry:

At the moment, Kairi isn’t very GOOD at fighting, but with practice and time she’ll shape up to be one of the strongest out there. Her punches pack a hard enough bite as it is—just wait until she gets a real weapon to beat you around with. Of course, she is just as reckless in battle as she is everywhere else, and that can easily be her downfall. Distance magic might do the trick, too.

Sora

AHHHH SHE AND SORA GREW UP TOGETHER REMEMBER AND SHE THOUGHT HE WAS SILLY while Sora like adored her she just laughed at him over it called him silly all the time but she adored him too and adored how he got excited over his fantasies and let him drag her along the beach as they acted them out

Plus they've spent the night at each other's houses literally always and swam together a lot obviously. Laid on hot sands of the shore. 

They know each other rrreaally well like I said Riku and Namine know each other well and they do but Sora and Kairi have known each other just as long (all their lives) and know each other just as well, and for Sora and Kairi, it's through experience and telling each other things and sharing things, unlike Namiku, who have each others' past and secrets thrust on each other through a telepathic connection they did not ask for.

She’s been angry at Sora yes but she’d never hate him she does forgive him—more than forgive him—for what happened during FtP and she missed him a lot during Dead Inside and she’s happy to see him and thinks he’s kinda dumb for ever thinking she’d hate him

But she’s y’know

Just happy to see him and really doesn’t feel like there’s anything different between them—besides, of course, Sora acting like there is and they’ve both been through a lot and are recovering

Also she probably gets a little worried about Sora bc he’s stressed and worried and he’s her best friend she doesn’t like seeing him upset

ALSO THE TWO OF THEM GET INTO TICKLE FIGHTS AND POKE WARS LITERALLY ALL THE TIME AND AT LEAST HALF THE TIME KAIRI STARTS THEM IF SHE DOESN’T’ START THEM 80% OF THE TIME and Sora sometimes starts them but regrets it almost immediately

Namine

Kairi and Namine are actually really good friends after living together and spending three months together without the boys

They hang out a lot and understand each other fairly well and Kairi understands Namine is quiet and enjoys being quiet so she’ll do all the talking or just be quiet when she thinks Namine needs/wants it

She’s still pretty rough with Namine—she’s rough with everyone—but will listen when Namine says stop she’s had enough and doesn’t take it too far she knows the boundaries

Tbh she probably jokes with/teases Namine a lot too.

Riku

Kairi, in a lot of ways, treats Riku like she would Sora?? she’s rough with him—sometimes even more rough with him because she knows he can take it

But she is very good at respecting boundaries

And she knows Riku ISN’T Sora and she does respect that but she does joke and tease with him a lot—largely just because most of her jokes go over his head and she wants him to get some of them

Like Namine adapted to a lot of her jokes after 6+ months together but Riku never did and Kairi mainly teases him to get a response out of him because she rarely does and she just wants to see him react

Shad

You have to remember

That she and Shad

Spent 1+ months meeting and talking and stuff periodically and while they didn’t say much she is quite familiar with him and y’know he’s Sora in a way so that only adds to the familiarity

She thinks of him as a friend and is quite fond of him

Then of course she learns who he is and all trust in him is shattered

Joseph

SHE AND JOSEPH ACTUALLY GET ALONG REALLY WELL AND BOTH SHE AND SORA ARE MUCH BETTER AT ENTERTAINING HIM THAN RIKU OR NAMINE BECAUSE RIKU’S MEH AND NAMINE’S NOT ONE FOR RUNNING BUT KAIRI AND SORA ARE Sora will play pretend with Joseph while Kairi teams up with him to play pranks

Plus they like a lot of similar music

But mainly the pranks

They’ll play pranks on people all the time and tease people and jump out around corners at people like it’s all very harmless pranks but they have a ton of fun

Roxas

She and Roxas actually get along pretty well because y’know he’s like Sora she’s like Xion so

Honestly I imagine they do/don’t do things with one another that they anticipate Sora/Xion being okay/not okay with and then the other has to be like “what??” bc they don’t understand the inside joke or “no I’m cool with you doing that”

Like Kairi often runs into the “what?” problem because she’ll say things that Sora gets but then she has to remind herself no that’s not Sora and she and Roxas make a joke out of it “well I forgot you weren’t Sora” and he’ll tell her “well I forgot you weren’t Xion” because the similarities are there and it’s

Y’know

They’re both incredibly stubborn though and get along because of it but also butt heads because of it

Tifa

Okay little is solidified but they spent a month+ traveling together therefore they probably get along rather well

However Kairi is a lot “softer” and less blunt than Tifa is so if anything Kairi will go and smack Tifa because oh my gosh that was too far and Tifa, tbh, doesn’t care about that at all

So

Though it’s kinda less Kairi’s “soft” and more she’s more tactful

She’s not soft at all

She learned a lot of like knowledge about the worlds and stuff from Tifa

HB gang

Aerith’s quiet in her opinion and gentle—maybe too gentle, but she’s not as gentle as Tifa thinks she is and wishes Tifa would realize that

Leon’s quiet but she totally knows he has a crush on someone

Idk she’s met them all of twice and Leon wasn’t incredibly involved

Cid is just that old guy who kinda yells a lot and he’s eccentric but he’s fun and exciting and Kairi likes that

I’d like to think she and Yuffie actually get along once they get to know each other

She doesn’t know much about Cloud except that he and Tifa are friends and he’s also kinda broody like Riku. She relates his broodiness to Riku.

Ven

Ven doting on her because she’s pure light and the princess and stuff  was a really cute headcanon but I don’t think it’s gonna apply in FtPverse

But he does recognize she’s pure light like him and he thinks very highly of her and she thinks it’s weird that he looks like Roxas and in some ways he reminds her of Sora and in some ways he reminds her of Roxas but he is his own person and he’s sweeter and gentler than Sora and Roxas have ever been

(Granted Sora’s really sweet and gentle and it probably only throws her off because he looks like Roxas but in a lot of ways he and Roxas are polar opposites) 

Aqua

Idk I bet she looks up to Aqua too like Sora does and they also get along pretty well but not because Aqua trains her or anything but just?? because??

There’s a chance they butt head a lots because of how stubborn Kairi is though and Aqua’s usually too polite to call her out on it
