Appearance notes:

Smol Friend, though when he gets older he’s gonna start shooting up real tall. He’ll probably get taller than sora, though not taller than Riku. A real fan of jackets + cargo pants because Pockets. Default fashion is cargo pants + tshirt + jacket w/ rolled up sleeves overtop. Probably has more than one jacket so he’s not getting his gross and sweaty every day. His hair is black, and if he lets it get long enough in front he’ll start looking like Baby Zexion whether he wants to or not. I’ve talked about him growing his hair out in the back tho and wearing it in a lil ponytail bc I thought it was cute, but who knows if that’ll come up before ATR ends lol. Scrawny.

Personality notes:

- Constantly upbeat!!! Bounces around a lot. Loud.

- Easily excitable. Likes being dramatic.

- Smiles all around

- He’s a kid, though—still, technically, a kid!—and he pouts like a kid he acts like a kid

- Kind of, passionate about everything he ever encounters, everything he ever cares about he just throws it into 100%. Excited to do something? 100% EXCITEMENT. Mad because Sora left w/o saying goodbye?? WON’T SHUT UP ABOUT IT!!!!

- Likes practical jokes and teasing. Honorary little brother to, like, everyone.

- Really smart??

- YOU EITHER THINK HE’S SWEET OR YOU THINK HE’S OBNOXIOUS THERE IS NO INBETWEEN, THAT’S A 12 YEAR OLD FOR YOU!!!

Other notes:

- A Replica, but he’s what everyone calls an Experiment—FtP Vexen created him from data borrowed from more than one person (Zexion for sure, a little Xaldin, and who knows what else)

- While he’s Coping, he does carry the weight of being the only surviving Experiment on his shoulders still. Knowing all your friends are dead is kind of awful.

- Insanely lucky? It’s unfair

- Doesn’t know when to shut up

Music taste: bubbly music!!! Imagine Dragons, Owl City, Passion Pit. And, um, some Barenaked Ladies songs. Someone (29) is put off by the band name, but if Pinch Me is NOT epitome Joseph music aesthetic idk what is. Also, twelve year old music?? Relient k probably. Sonic music for sure, along with any other video game music w/ vocal tracks. The pokemon theme song. Video game parody songs. The like.

Favorite color: steel blue, because, gotta love that twelve year old aesthetic (if he ever makes his own website it's just steel blue and black and no other colors)

Notable Abilities:

He’s real good at being a distraction

He’s a great liar. Between Zexion’s illusion powers and Xaldin’s silver tongue, Joseph can come up with an elaborate cover story for any failed prank on the spot. Only people who know him well (29) will really catch onto when he’s making stuff up.

(It remains to be seen whether or not he has illusion powers of his own.)

Fighting Style / Battle Stats:

Though his only claim to fighting fame in Dead Inside was swinging around a wooden sword like it was going to do something, come ATR he’s fashioned a boomerang-shield hybrid for himself!! He’s still, uh, learning the ropes. He can manage small Heartless on his own but that’s about it.

Also he knows some Blizzard magic, because, (glances at 29) of course.

History:

- being real close friends with Raymond and Patrick, the only other experiments his age

- GETTING INTO A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH THEM BC PRANKS

- GENERALLY BEING A NUISANCE TO, LIKE, EVERYONE???? While certainly having a bunch of whining 8-year-olds around can’t have been fun for the Organization, it may have been the terrible trio that really caused Saix to start hating the experiments so much

- he was friends with Xion, in Nothing’s Fair! And Roxas, a little bit

- losing Raymond and Patrick and all his friends (including: Roxas and Xion)

- looking up to Riku / clinging to Riku because Riku’s like the only one his age around here now that everyone is gone I need friends please

- HE WAS PRETTY CLOSE TO NAMINE TOO!!

- kind of helping out in his own way throughout the entirety of Dead Inside, with various things???

- as of ATR, he and 29 have moved into Hollow Bastion!!! Other than occasionally help out with Heartless, they haven’t really done much, though Joseph’s probably dropped by the Gainsborough house and been his usual self from time to time
